The Crown

    This photo series is a documentary project centered around black women and their hair; meant to uplift black woman. In this series, I ask black women what their experience has been with their hair in society and how this has affected them. I asked these woman what their experience has been with thier hair in their own enviornments and society. I wanted these woman to wear and style their hair in  ways they prefered whether that be natural, long, short, wigs and etc. I did not want these women to be constricted to the standards society places on them. I capture portrait-style photos of black women showcasing their unique, different hairstyles, and hair wraps. The original size prints of these photographs were 60in x 44in. This is a continues project.
